Exit Calc is a free, illustrative calculator designed to help business owners and shareholders explore what a private equity exit might look like. It is operated by Exit Calc. By using this website, you agree to these terms.
Exit Calc does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All valuations, multiples, projections, and deal structure estimates shown by this tool are illustrative only and are based on generalised sector data and simplified assumptions.
Actual business valuations depend on a wide range of factors that this tool cannot account for, including but not limited to: detailed financial performance and quality of earnings, customer concentration, management dependency, market conditions at the time of sale, specific deal terms and structures, due diligence findings, competitive dynamics among potential buyers, and debt and working capital adjustments.
You should not make any financial decisions based solely on the output of this calculator. Always consult qualified professional advisors — including chartered accountants, corporate finance advisors, and solicitors — before pursuing any business sale or exit transaction.
The EBITDA multiples used in this tool are based on publicly available market data and general industry benchmarks for lower mid-market transactions. They are updated periodically but may not reflect current market conditions at any given time.
The “second exit” projections assume a typical private equity return target of approximately 3× over 3–5 years. Actual returns vary significantly and there is no guarantee that any PE-backed investment will achieve its target returns. Past performance of PE funds is not indicative of future results.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure the calculator functions correctly, but we do not warrant that it is error-free or that results are accurate for any specific situation.
